Give Life All That You Can

I have a friend who is going through the challenges of Cancer.  This person is very young and is an inspiration to those who come in contact with her.  I think of her every day and wonder if I could face her challenges as bravely as she does.  I too am a cancer survivor 15 years out.

Could I do it again?  Watching her… I know I could.  Life is just too short not to give it our all.   We can enjoy each and every day, every moment, every second.

Here’s to you my friend, thank you for showing me the strength we can have when facing truly difficult times. You are a blessing to me and those around you!

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
Mother Teresa

As a business owner, manager, co-worker, or friend,  what can you do to make sure your employees/co-workers/friends know that you have their back and front in the event that something unexpected happens?

It is better to be prepared, than not to be.  We are all humans just trying to live, love and learn from each other.  Life can be a battle, but it is worth the fight.

  1. Fantastic post Tina! I think everyone has been touched by cancer in some way, whether it be up close and personal, a family member or a friend. I think as managers, not only do we need to be sensitive, but also flexible. When a family member is affected, there is an enormous upheaval in that person’s life. Not just emotionally, but physically. Travelling backwards and forwards between hospital appointments, juggling work and family commitments, it all takes its toll. A little understanding can go a long way!

    • Hi Alesandra, thank you for your comment. You are right, my friend is an office manager with over a dozen staff members under her. They have been so supportive of her and help carry her through each day. It is so sad that many times people do not help each other out when there are not issues. We should be as supportive of each other whether or not there is a crisis going on.
