We often hear that we do not get a second chance at many things. This is true for some things, but for many it is not.
I love the quote from Anne of Green Gables, written by L.M. Montgomery; “Isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?”
Life is about choices. We get to choose each second of each day who and how we want to be. I am working with a client who is facing a short future, very short, but most people she encounters do not know this. She is full of life and is always looking to do good and bring peace to others.
I was amazed the other day when she told me she was in the middle of a crisis, I immediately thought it was her health. She then said, “I have a rescue parrot that is dying and I am trying to save its life”. Each day she looks outside of herself and she does not realize the gift that she is giving to so many people who come in contact with her.
She truly is demonstrating one of my favorite quotes by Randy Pausch, “We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand”.
My call to action today is to “Play the hand you are dealt to the best of your ability, look outward not inward.”
Happy Monday!
Nice reframe there Tina. New thought advice so often tells us to look inwards but misses the point that by looking ‘outwards’ at who we might be able to help we get to see our inner selves more clearly. 🙂

So true Stu…. it has been very enlightening working with someone who is close to passing along. Very inspiring and also very sad at the same time.
