Practice Kindness Each Day

1330924_tree_of_love_4 Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la.  Just singing that line brings a smile to my face and makes me feel good, but what about making others feel good?  Wait it is only September, why is it that we wait until the holiday season to do nice things for others?

What about practicing some random acts of kindness each day?  They don’t have to be big or cost anything.  I like to give away “hellos” and “smiles” it is great to watch the reaction of those I give them to.

I was doing shopping this weekend , and because I waited until the holiday weekend the lines were amazingly long. There was not much I could do to move them along so decided to put on my happy face, smile and give a few hellos and thank yous away (making sure if they were to a sales person that I used their name).

The day was great for me and my encounters went well. I loved getting good positive reactions from the people who helped me and those that I just randomly saw, made eye contact with and said hello to.

I know it has been said many times before but “what a great place this world would be if we all practiced a little more kindness.”

Remember these acts of kindness don’t have to be saved for strangers, give them away freely to your co-workers, boss and customers.  They will be so happy to receive them and possibly they will give out a few themselves.  That is usually what happens, it becomes a chain of reaction.  How wonderful!

The links below are posts from people who have decided that random acts of kindness are the way to go and had fun doing them.

I think you will really enjoy reading them and it may give you a few ideas to try yourself.   Fa, la la la la, la la la la to you, even though it is only September!

  1. Tina,

Thanks for the reminder to practice random acts of kindness. I love how doing this often gets positive reactions from others.

And you don’t have a special reason to do this. As you mentioned, you don’t have to wait for a certain time of year. You just do it for the enjoyment of it.

I hope you had a great Labor Day weekend!

  2. Tina,

I forgot to mention that the Kindle version of “The Supermanager” will be available for free this Friday and Saturday on Amazon. I wanted to let you know that in case you might know anybody who might be interested in checking it out.

    • Oh my gosh, I will post about it…fantastic. I will also put it on the ASPMA site and PPM’s site.

I will be buying book to take with me to the conference in February once I know the number of attendees.

Have a great evening and let me know when you want to guest post with us

      • Tina,

Thanks so much for posting about it. I really appreciate it.

The feedback on the book has been fantastic, but I’m trying to get more people to know about it. This program seems like a great way to do it. Some other authors have had a lot of success with it.

I’m really excited about your upcoming workshop at the conference in February.

And I’ll be sure to let you know when I get some ideas for a guest post. I’m not posting on my blog right now, so I should be getting some ideas.

  3. It’s amazing how a kind word or gesture can brighten someone’s day. In a previous post, you referenced taking the time to listen to an elderly patient. That small gesture is a great example of kindness. My “feel good” column in the local paper is a section devoted to random acts of kindness.
